On December 17, 2018, Dong-A Socio Holdings (President Han Jong-hyun) announced the donation of 100 million KRW to the Dail Community, a volunteer organization, for the reconstruction of the headquarters building of the free meal provision campaign Bobfor.
A number of executives including President Han Jong-hyun of Dong-A Socio Holdings and Choi Il-do, the board chairman of the Dail Community, attended the donation ceremony.
Despite having launched the free meal provision campaign Bobfor in Cheongnyangni Station Square some thirty years ago back in 1988, the Dail Community has continued to provide the free meal service in a temporary building near Dapsimni-dong. The Dail Community decided to reconstruct its headquarters not only to improve visitors’ health and hygiene but also to provide a comprehensive welfare system encompassing culture and education.
Dong-A Socio Holdings, which has participated in the free meal provision campaign Bobfor for fourteen years since 2005, is sponsoring this reconstruction project to help senior citizens who visit the Bobfor headquarters enjoy a meal in a safe, comfortable environment. Each winter, the volunteer group of Dong-A Socio Group, including Dong-A Socio Holdings, Dong-A ST, and Dong-A Pharm, prepares and serves hot meals, and also donates funds and goods for neighbors in need. Last month, the Group’s volunteer group received the Dail Volunteer Award for its continuous assistance for neighbors in need.
An official of Dong-A Socio Holdings said, “We hope this sponsorship will help provide a better place for a meal and a rest. We will continue our sponsorship and volunteer work to help our neighbors in need.
Dong-A Socio Group is engaged in various social contribution activities for local communities, including ‘Bigen Again Campaign’ for hair dye volunteer service for the elderly, the ‘Sarang Nanum (Sharing Love) Charity Bazaar’ to help the underprivileged, and a mural drawing campaign aimed at brightening streets in the district.
